What it is

A Codex desktop beta that suggests the next message for the current thread after Codex responds.

Why use it

Use it to continue a multi-step coding or work thread faster when the suggested next request matches your intent.

How to use it

In the latest Codex desktop app, wait for a suggestion to appear after a response. Press Tab to place it in the composer, review or edit it, then send it yourself. Turn off Show predictions in General settings if you do not want suggestions.

A relevant suggestion can shorten the next step in an ongoing work thread without sending anything automatically.

Availability at release: Beta for personal ChatGPT Pro users aged 18 or older in supported regions, using the latest Codex desktop app with eligible local or SSH threads on GPT-6 Astra or GPT-6.1 Sol.
